Amasai Cultured Dairy is Amazing

Updated on May 5, 2016

A Sensational Cultured Beverage

Amasai is a cultured milk beverage with the consistency of liquid yogurt. It provides your body with high quality proteins, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, probiotics, and healthy fats.

Just as yogurt became popular in the 1960s in this country, just as kefir made a splash ten years ago, Amasai is the next innovation in cultured beverages. With the taste, nutrient density, and acceptability of a cow's milk product, coupled with the tolerability of a sheep or goat's milk product, Amasai is a sensational cultured beverage.

From the first sip, I knew this was something that I wanted to share with my family. I have tried kefir, drinkable yogurt, and raw milk. Many of them are good and most of them are healthy, but none of them were Amasai. I feel like I have to include Amasai in some form at every meal. If you haven't tasted Amasai in person, check it out right here! Amasai will bolster your health and awaken your passion for dairy.

Maasai Tribe
Maasai Tribe

Named After South African Amasi

Maasai Tribe

The inspiration for Amasai came from amasi, the traditional dairy beverage of the Maasai tribe.

Dr. Weston Price traveled to the African continent and was impressed with the towering stature and physical prowess of the Maasai tribe. The average male stood over 7 feet tall, with perfect teeth, strong bones, and no intestinal disease. The tall women gave birth easily to robust babies. They herded their own cows and drank their milk and the meat with all the fat. They didn't eat much of anything else but were in incredibly great shape, especially compared to the Europeans.

Amasai vs Yogurt - Amasai Has Over 30 Strains of Probiotics

Amasi Kills E Coli
Amasi Kills E Coli

In 2004, a nutrition student at the University of Wisconsin named Richard Mokua studied the benefits of amasi. Mokua was Kenyan and this was one of his favorite cultured foods that he grew up with in his childhood. Mokua observed that children who consumed amasi were less susceptible to diarrhea. Mokua used commercial milk, commercial yogurt and amasi from his hometown in Kenya. He inoculated all three with the E Coli bacteria.

Mokua found that regular milk was a fertilizer that allowed E Coli to grow stronger. The yogurt with some active bacteria was able to slightly reduce the E Coli strains. Amasi was able to dominate the E Coli and kill it very quickly. The primary difference between regular yogurt and the amasi was the volume of lactic acid bacteria such as the lactobacillus family.

How Does Amasai Differ from Other Cultured Beverages on the Market?

One of the most frequent questions we get asked is how Amasai differs from cultured beverages like kefir or yogurt. It's a good question. After all, these are considered cultured beverages. However, that is where the similarity ends. There are 4 major differences: the cattle, what the cattle eat, the fat, and the culturing process.

  • Green Fed cattle - no grains whatsoever!
  • True Whole Milk is used with a higher level of fat soluble vitamins.
  • Low temperature processing leaving the delicate proteins in their whole state.
  • Over 30 probiotics cultures.
  • Improved absorption of vitamins and minerals.
  • Reduced level of cellular inflammation.
  • Improved digestion.
  • Better recovery after the use of antibiotics.
  • Reduced rates of diarrhea.
  • Improved immune response.

Why is A2 Milk so Important?

The Secret to Healthy Milk

Another factor that sets Amasai apart is the breed of cow chosen for milking does not produce allergy causing enzyme (A1 beta casein) that causes milk allergies. Many people who are allergic to milk are mistakenly labeled "lactose intolerant" when it is actually the milk protein that is at fault. This fact means that Amasai is safe and beneficial for everyone to consume - even those who know they are lactose intolerant or allergic to milk.

The healthy A2 beta casein proteins could (rather than the red wine hypothesis) explain why both the French and the Maasai, while having high dairy diets, have comparatively low levels of heart disease. In each case, those persons would appear to consume only A2 milk. The Finns, on the other hand, have high dairy diets but consume predominantly A1 milk - and have high levels of heart disease.

If more people demand A2 milk it will eventually become available. Right now I don't know of any source of strictly A2 milk you can purchase in any store, except Beyond Organic. But that could change if enough voices are heard. If you are not able to locate an A2 source, healthy raw milk from any source is much much better than pasteurized.

The Culturing Process

Yes, Amasai is pasteurized but with low heat of 145 degrees. This ensures product safety while not destroying what is good about milk. A problem with high temperature pasteurization is that heating the milk to elevated temperatures kills probiotics, destroys enzymes, and alters the proteins and fat in the milk making them carcinogenic and toxic. Beyond Organic sought a different path, taking up to 180 times longer than high temperature or ultra-heat pasteurization. This allows the proteins and certain microbes to remain intact to be gently pre-digested by the probiotics. This means that Amasai is safe and beneficial for everyone to consume, even those who know they lactose intolerant or allergic to milk.

Health Benefits of Grass Fed Dairy Products - Help Control Weight and Support Healthy Cholesterol Levels

"CLA is a group of fatty acids found in ruminant animals and tends to be as much as 3 to 5 times higher in grass-fed animals than in the grain-fed animals raised by conventional beef operations. In recent years, research on CLA has also shown that it may help control weight and support healthy cholesterol levels. While you can get CLA from supplementation, I believe the best sources of CLA are found in grass-fed animal products like butter, cheese or meat." - Jordan Rubin

Jordan Rubin Speaks about Amasai

At the age of 19, Jordan Rubin was stricken with an incurable illness. In a desperate search to save his life, Jordan sought medical advice from more than 70 health professionals from around the world but none were able to help him.

Now, in vibrant health, he credits his recovery to a biblically based health program. He knew that the foods that refueled his recovery weren't available and the thought of not having access to these healthy organic foods someday gave him pause. He decided that, if at all possible, he would grow and raise these powerful foods for himself, his future family and loved ones.

His travels across the US fueled his desire to one day produce the highest quality foods, without pesticides and preservatives, but as God intended.

The best part of his dream to provide the world's healthiest foods and beverages to people who need it most, is not his alone. This is his invitation to you to join his mission to transform the health of this nation, one life at a time.

Flavors that WOW

Amasai

The taste is tart yet smooth, kind of a cross between yogurt, kefir, and sour cream. I really don't know how else to describe it except to say that I think I know why Amasai tastes so good.

Amasai is Uniquely Addictive

Amasai is the crown jewel of Beyond Organic. It is created the way God intended - with Beyond Organic standards, new and rich in probiotics, nutrients and enzymes - exactly the kind of food that healed Jordan Rubin years ago.

Amasai is gluten free and easy to digest. If you enjoy drinking Amasai for breakfast or anytime snack to the point of being an addict, as I do, this is an added benefit.

They come in a six-pack of 16 oz. bottles. Each 8 oz. serving has 160-180 calories which is not too much since it is so satisfying that one serving is enough. It is a totally nourishing and simple meal that everyone in the family loves. I can't recommend this enough.

What could be better than ice cream? A healthy ice cream made with Amasai. It is so easy to make and you can enjoy it anytime.

Devil in the Milk: Illness, Health and the Politics of A1 and A2 Milk
If I could rename this book, it would be "Short Cut to Milk Wisdom" because it makes clear the choices we have. The dairy industry is more interested burying this information, to keep milk sells going undisturbed. So, they want to cut money for A2 research, giving it instead to cholesterol, despite A1 milk in tests done, could produce more damage than cholesterol. This book could be your best buy in years - it may change your view of the milk/yogurt/cheese choices for the better, now and forever.
